The Greatest Surprise of All
Hi Thriver!
Whether you are celebrating Easter or not today, I hope you have had the experience of unexplainable surprises in your life.
Have you ever experienced a moment where something so magical happened that you have zero explanation for it other than a miracle? I imagine that was the feeling in the air at Jesus' tomb on this blessed Sunday morning.
Can you imagine being alive when Jesus lived and waking up on this Sunday morning as you normally would, expecting it to be another regular day? Only to be greeted by a miracle that had no explanation other than to believe in a God you may or may not have believed in at the time?
I can only begin to imagine the heart-opening faith expansion that was triggered wide open on this original holy day.
What do we do when we are called to believe in something we have no explanation for?
Many of us try to reason our way to its existence.
It must have happened because of....
So and so must have made this happen....
This week, my hubby and I pulled apart the dryer to vacuum it out to eliminate the excess lint in the machine that was equal in size to a full animal. In doing so, we unscrewed the vent and were meticulous about the location of those screws being extra careful to place them inside a container. Although two screws felt secure within the vent, so we decided not to place them in the container.
Wouldn't ya know that when we went to resecure the vent, the two screws we had left in the vent were missing. We had gently laid the vent down and were so careful even though we felt no need to remove them.
We found one stray screw on the floor nearby and could not find the final screw anywhere. We decided three screws would be enough since none of our garage screws matched the vacant hole.
An hour later, I was cleaning up the kitchen which is about 15 feet away from the laundry room and all of a sudden, in the still of the night, I heard the sound of screw falling at my feet literally out of thin air.
I was wearing leggings, no socks and a tight shirt. There was no way that this screw had "been in one of my pockets." There was nothing around me and nothing for it to cling to on my body.
It appeared out of thin air. Even my husband heard the sound of it falling from another room onto the tile floor.
I know it seems funny that I would have thought of Jesus' resurrection in this moment, but I did.
This screw appeared out of nowhere and had no explanation for its appearance. I was astounded.
And that amazement was about a screw.
Imagine how these people felt and how you might have felt to have experienced this miraculous healer disappearing from the tomb with no reasonable explanation only to reveal himself to those he loved.
That night, my only explanation for that screw appearing was emphatically that the angels gave it to us. It was literally the only explanation I could fathom.
And I believe that is where credit was due, and it was OK for me not to have any other explanation. I was content with it being the angels because there was truly no other place this screw could have fallen from. It appeared out of thin air and fell onto the ground.
Where in your life can you expand your faith to give credit where credit is due knowing your Divine source is greeting you with miracles every day too?
Can you bask in the knowingness that you are being provided for in every moment?
That the perfect screw could appear out of thin air for you too?
Or the perfect person?
Or the perfect job?
Or the perfect friend?
Life is always blessing you.
I hope you are surprised by your Divine Source today and every day and that you give credit where credit is due.
Here's to a day of miracles and joy!
Have a wonderful Easter and Sunday and a miraculous week.
Much love,
Erin
