How Often Do You Say “Next Time?

Hi Thriver!

Like many, I have always loved Prince and Prince's music.  I grew up choreographing lawn performances with my neighbor to this incredible music.

We would spend hours practicing to perform our innovative interpretive dance to "Little Red Corvette" to anyone who would watch.

So, in 2016, when Prince was playing at a venue located near my home, I was desperate to go, as you can imagine.

I couldn't wait to bring back my Prince dance moves.

But I didn't take the time to try and organize people to go with me.

Life got away from me and I sadly missed the concert.

I distinctly remember saying to myself,

"Next time!"

Prince died a few weeks later.

I have held onto that "next time" feeling as a personal push toward saying "yes" to life, to doing all the fun things there are to do and when deciding if I should or shouldn't do something,

I remind myself, there might not be a next time so GO!

This week, I used that "next time" decider push to send me to Lauren Daigle's concert.

A few weeks ago at dinner, our family went around and shared what concert they would go to, given the opportunity.

Without pause, I said, "Lauren Daigle."

I have loved her soulful music and rich voice for years. She always speaks to my heart and will often bring me to tears because her words tend to meet me where I am at in very poignant moments.

She is a Christian singer and praises God in her songs.

So you can imagine my surprise when her opening act started playing "Purple Rain" as a joke that this tribute would be his last song of his set.

"Purple Rain!"

You cannot make this up!

I felt like this was the Universe's confirmation that I was supposed to be there and that I need to keep doing the things that light my heart up.

Lauren Daigle certainly lit my heart up this week and loved even more the Universal confirmation I received that I was in the right place at the right time.

What is your "next time" motivation?

What experience can you apply to your life to get you doing all your heart desires?

You’re welcome to use “Purple Rain” as your igniter of fun until you have your own. Let me know what Prince pushes you to do too!
