Do You Have Super Support In Your Life?
Hi Thriver!
It’s back to school season.
I’ve seen so many precious social media posts ranging from pre-k to college launches and proud heartfelt notes from parents and grandparents alike.
Two years ago, I launched my first child into college and this week, I launched my baby girl.
And wow, oh wow, do I feel every emotion possible.
I feel soo much pride and excitement for her as well as grief and sadness over this family chapter change.
But I know not to go through these emotions all alone. I have an incredible therapist, soul-connected girlfriends and a group of Super Moms.
Who are the Super Moms?
A group of moms who have also launched their children off to college who gather once a month to support each other and put together care packages to send off to our kiddos in college.
I started Super Moms when my oldest daughter left for college and found the mom support to be wonderful and the kids loved getting care packages every month.
When our children are born, we join mom groups for support. I believe a mom group is equally important now as we birth these adults into the world.
What is Super Moms?
Every first week of the month, one of us hosts at our house and we each bring a favorite something for each box. It’s like favorite things for our college student every month. The host provides the boxes and tape and note writing and we combine the goodies in one box and leave with a care package for our college kid and heart full of support and love.
Each box includes decorations for the month’s holiday or treats or socks or whatever we feel called. It is always fun and varied.
If you have recently launched an adult into this world, I hope you create your own Super Mom/ Super Dad/ Super Parent group and give yourself the support and love you deserve through this incredible life transition.
Be good to you at every stage of life and parenting and surround yourself with the love and support you need.
Much love,
Erin
