Are you rising up today?

Happy Easter!

There is a lot of talk of rising today

There are many interpretations of the meaning of Jesus rising out of the tomb on this day but I believe one of the greatest messages is a message of faith and depending on each other.

We have all experienced the last few years differently but one thing has remained consistent, we have needed to dig deeper and believe in something greater than ourselves.

We have learned who we will rise up for every day.

Relationships have been cemented during this time period while others were broken forever.

Regardless of how challenging life has been for you I invite you to rise up today.

If the last few years have taught us anything, it has taught us…

-who we can depend on
-who was truly there for us when we needed our hand held or who simply didn't show up.
-who we wanted to see over the last two years and -who we hardly missed.

These people, the core circle of your life, these are the people you rise up for.

These are the people that when you are exhausted, you will still be there for them because you know they will be there for you.

This part of today's scripture is so touching to me for this very reason.

"The angel said to the woman, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.."
Matthew 28:5-6

Just as he said he would.

How many people do you have in your life that do things because they say they will?

Those are the people you rise up for each day.

And this is how and why we have faith because the Universe does what it says it will do- responds to your mindset, responds to your faith, and responds to your belief in how good you believe life will treat you.

So Rise Up for those people in your life and rise up for yourself because the most important person for you to keep your word to is yourself.

Jesus did exactly what he said he would do.

How many people in your life have that kind of integrity?

They do what they say they are going to do.

For me, this is one of the most profound messages of today.

Having faith in people because they do what they say they are going to do.

The past few years revealed to us who those people are for us in our lives.

Now that they have been revealed to them, love them, cherish them and rise up for them everyday.

My offering to you is one of my go-to powerhouse motivation songs, RIse Up by Andra Day. This song is powerful and helps you to keep on going when life feels heavy. It helps you to rise up 1,000 times again.

Here are the lyrics to this incredible song to inspire you today to continue to rise up for yourself and those that you love.

Rise Up

Andra Day
You're broken down and tired
Of living life on a merry go round
And you can't find the fighter
But I see it in you so we gonna walk it out
And move mountains
We gonna walk it out
And move mountains
And I'll rise up
I'll rise like the day
I'll rise up
I'll rise unafraid
I'll rise up
And I'll do it a thousand times again
And I'll rise up
High like the waves
I'll rise up
In spite of the ache
I'll rise up
And I'll do it a thousand times again
For you
For you
For you
For you

When the silence isn't quiet
And it feels like it's getting hard to breathe
And I know you feel like dying
But I promise we'll take the world to its feet
And move mountains
Bring it to its feet
And move mountains
And I'll rise up
I'll rise like the day
I'll rise up
I'll rise unafraid
I'll rise up
And I'll do it a thousand times again
For you
For you
For you
For you
All we need, all we need is hope
And for that we have each other
And for that we have each other
And we will rise
We will rise
We'll rise, oh, oh
We'll rise
I'll rise up
Rise like the day
I'll rise up
In spite of the ache
I will rise a thousand times again
And we'll rise up
High like the waves
We'll rise up
In spite of the ache
We'll rise up
And we'll do it a thousand times again
For you
For you
For you
For you

I listen to this song at least three times every time I listen to it. I seriously can't stop listening to it when I do. I hope it inspires you too.
