Did you know that springtime is liver detox time?

How was your first week of Spring?

Are you feeling excited and joyous, full of new beginnings?

Or have you been...

  • feeling angry and irritable?

  • feeling stuck and frustrated?

  • experiencing resentment?

  • struggling with tendonitis?

  • dealing with eye issues?

If you said "yes" to any of these series of questions, it is time to clear and cleanse your liver. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), each of our organs clears and cleanses, resets and rebalances during specific seasons and springtime is liver season!

This is critically important because the liver energy helps the energy in our entire body flow. So when our liver energy is stagnant, the energy throughout our entire body becomes stagnant.

Has life felt stagnant to you recently?

Spring cleaning is not just meant for your storage closet, it's time to clean from the inside out.

What can you do to help your body detoxify its liver?

  • Drink Dandelion tea

  • Drink Milk Thistle Tea

  • Drink lemon water- begin your day with lemon water (Be sure to brush your teeth afterwards because the acidity can eat away at your enamel).*

  • Drink Apple Cider vinegar- a tablespoon of ACV every morning will help to cleanse your system

  • Eat Fermented foods

  • Stretch your body and get it moving

  • Get outside among the trees- Nature is always cleansing but this season is healed by the wood element so go ahead and go forest bathing and let the beauty of the trees rebalance you and heal you!

*I am not even kidding on this one! I was enjoying my lemon water one morning and placed it down on my dresser and apparently some of the liquid was on the outside of the mug. Within minutes, it ate through the enamel on the dresser. I couldn't believe it! So brush soon after dinking your lemon water! The benefits are still soo worth it! Just be sure to brush!)

While all of the above are powerful techniques to clean the liver, there is another level of clearing and cleansing that far surpasses the physical tools- emotional and energetic healing.

We hold our anger in our liver.
We hold our resentments here.
As we dive in and heal these emotions and the experiences that triggered these emotions, we make way for peace, understanding and love.
As we heal our emotions and the energy that is released from the emotions, we begin to heal.

Join me for this week's meditation, Springtime Liver Cleansing Meditation, and dive into the emotions and events that are congesting your liver and causing disruption to your system.

Happy Spring Cleaning! Your body, mind and health will thank you for it!

Much love,
Erin
