How To Use Breath And Meditation To Heal Your Injuries

Many of you asked about my ankle after last week’s meditation, Improve your Intuition. Thank you for all your concern and, as a result, now I’m going to share with you how I healed that injury in less than a day.

Life will happen. You will fall, trip and bump into things. This typically happens when your energy is ungrounded. Be sure to begin each and every day with this grounding meditation, Grounding with Gratitude, to enjoy a day that is grounded, present and filled with gratitude to help prevent injury.

If your energy is weak, you may find that your physical body injures easier but if your energy is vibrant and flowing, you will recover and move on quickly.

Our thoughts trigger our emotions. Our emotions move our energy. Our energy manifests physically.

If we never allow those initial emotional thoughts to settle, they cannot form an injury. How many times have you experienced an injury that hurt for quite sometime?

Many of us have.

Take a moment to reflect and think about what emotions might have been involved with that injury. Was your ego triggered? Did you feel guilty about something? Were you embarrassed?

What begins as emotional pain surfaces as physical pain. In fact, in this incredible interview by Bessel van der Kolk, Overcome Trauma with Yoga, he describes how auto-immune conditions are the result of trapped traumas in the body and details how we can use yoga to release and heal the trauma.

I have seen more men injure their knees playing basketball right after being arrogant on the court. Our knees are where we hold our ego. So many people have lower back pain who are struggling with money. I have seen many people who feel overly concerned about other people's welfare and opinion injure their ankles.

While setting my office up to reopen, I was overly worried about whether or not other people would want to come back to Love.Heal.Thrive. in its vibrant capacity pre-COVID. I was overly concerned about their energy rather than just creating the most incredible and vibrant energy possible in the center and allowing that and the Universe to attract them. My body’s energy around this subject was weak within because I was placing more emphasis on people’s opinions rather than God’s plan. As a result, I found myself with an injury.

Caroline Myss teaches us that we are only as sick as our secrets. While certainly secrets make us sick, our unprocessed emotions make us sick too. Where is the pain in your body? Is it located in a space that may be connected to an emotional injury too?

What emotions come up when you look deeper into the source of pain within your body? Listen to the story your body is trying to tell you. It will lead you to healing.

So how did I heal?

I fell...hard.

But rather than connecting to the emotions I was experiencing about the center, I grounded my energy with an energy cord to the center of the earth (much like we do in all of our meditations) and started completing deep ujjayi breaths. Upon every exhale, I visualized seeing all of those emotions and truly the outcome of the center flow into the center of the earth.

Join me for this week's meditation, Healing Injury through breath and meditation, to complete this full injury healing process together. I will teach you how to utilize this breath to cleanse your body.

What is true for my body is also true for my work.

Whether or not Love. Heal. Thrive. remains open is not ultimately up to me. As the Bhagavad Gita teaches, we have a right to the work alone, not to the fruit of our labor.

It is my job to put everything in place and allow the Universe to do its work.

You don't have control over others' opinions or actions, COVID or how people act, but you do have control over your breath. As you begin to use your breath to heal and master your life, you  will find yourself living an empowered and powerful life full of love, health and abundance simply by using the power of your breath.

Much love,
Erin
