What If? A Meditation On Attachment.
It's kind of a funny thing right now. We have no idea what day of the week it is when asked, but when we finally take a look at our calendar, we get fully immersed in what was planned for that day.
Have you found yourself stuck on your calendar?
Many of us find ourselves grieving the loss of that event, that birthday celebration and that family gathering. For many of us, we celebrated our first holiday last week away from our extended families. It's hard to understand why this is all happening.
This is where our faith saves the day.
Faith is trusting in something we cannot see.
There is great transformation happening right now. Whether you are home resting or on the front line saving lives, your life is changing forever and for the better.
Yes, I have had moments too of feeling nostalgic and disappointed that we have not been able to experience certain calendared events, but it has been quickly followed up with gratitude for what is happening right now.
What if....those things on the calendar weren't going to serve us in the same way that this time is ultimately serving us now? We wish we could just have all those things on the calendar. We are left with grief, sadness and anxiety.
We do not know what tomorrow brings, but let's remember that we never did. We never knew before what tomorrow would bring and yet we have been blessed beyond compare.
Why would that change now?
Let's take a moment and meditate on letting go of our attachments to our calendar, to the way life should be and to what would've happened so we can welcome in the blessing of this new state of being.
