Are You Giving From Overflow This Holiday Season?
Are you already exhausted and the holidays have just begun?
When favorite events that you are invited to begin to feel like chores,
When the idea of gathering with all of your loved ones tires you out,
When you think of the approaching holidays as a burden,
it might be the perfect moment to take a time-out and start your holiday by giving to yourself first.
Our energy, when unburdened, unstressed, and unattached can be bountiful, abundant and endless.
But when we feel burdened, stressed and attached to particular outcomes, we limit the energy in our body and find ourselves exhausted and depleted.
We are comprised of 7 major energy centers. Our Heart Chakra is where the big ol' bucket of self-love lives and if you have even one of the symptoms from above, that bucket is screaming for your attention right now. Think about it for a moment.
How full is your self-love bucket?
Is it half full, overflowing or depleted? And if it is depleted, do you just keep giving and giving and giving?
How's that working out for you?
When we give from depletion, we are not fooling anyone.
We know we are exhausted but we think we "have" to still do x y or z and so we drop deeper into an exhausted and depleted state.
Here's the thing though....the person you are "helping" feels your exhaustion too.
I'm sure you've been on the receiving end of exhausted giving.
Doesn't feel very good does it?
It feels owed. It feels heavy. It feels guilty. Guess what? The giver feels the same way. Nobody truly wins.
But it doesn't have to be this way.
Here are two great hacks that will help you to give from a place that is abundant and flowing to set you up for a holiday season filled with abundance and love.
Sit quietly, legs crossed, straight spine and imagining a tree root growing from the base of your spine down to the center of the earth.
Take a look at your self-love bucket located in your chest. How full does it look? Full? Empty? Half-full? What color is inside the bucket? No judgement. Just fact gathering. What does this image mean to you?
See a tube growing from the crown of your head up to your Divine Source and then see this beautiful golden glitter and light pour down that tube and into that beautiful bucket in your chest. Allow that golden light to pour down and fill up your bucket until it is overflowing with this beautiful golden light.
As you see that Divine Love overflowing from your bucket, invite that love to release the expectations you may have on how the holidays are supposed to be.
Release the expectations to how people are supposed to respond to your gift giving, your food, your efforts.
Release the expectations of what you feel is the "perfect" holiday.
Expectations keep us attached to our current life when, in actuality, God wants to bless us so much bigger than we allow ourselves to be blessed.
God wants more for us than where we are in this moment.
Maybe your expectations look like a string attached to your bucket, maybe it's a feeling or a color. Doesn't matter.
Begin to see it unattach to your bucket and release...
People and their responses
Places and how it should be
Things you think you need or should or shouldn't receive
"It should be..."
"It would've been..."
"It's supposed to be like this..."
When we let go of what we believe is supposed to happen, God comes in and blesses us waay bigger than we ever would have blessed ourselves. I've seen it over and over again with myself and clients. Let go of what you believe is best and welcome in what is. It will bless you beyond all measure.
So let's Review:
Holiday Energy Plan:
1) Sitting quietly imagining the restorative and healing gold energy flowing down and overflowing into your self-love bucket.
2) Releasing attachments to that bucket of people, places, things and outcomes.
3) Bask and enjoy all of the energy flowing in and through you to enjoy this incredible time with family and friends.
When you let go, The Divine will not only reward you with amazing blessings and experiences this Holiday, but also abundant energy, joy and gratitude.
Palpable, authentic, genuine joy is the best gift you can give yourself and others this holiday season.
Much love,
Erin
