How do you find your balance?

Hi Thriver!

Do you find that you are feeling so emotional that you can't speak?

Do you talk and talk but don't ever feel connected to the person you're talking to, despite wanting to feel connected?

Like all things, it's energetic.

When you reach energic balance within your body, you will find that you feel connected when sharing and find yourself feeling whole and complete all on your own.

Relationships become the cherry on top. You don't need them.

You enjoy them, but they do not complete you.

You complete you. (Sorry Jerry Maguire- love the movie but our philosophies diverge here.)

There are many ways for you to feel and establish this completeness.

My book, Establishing Equilibrium, dives into the premise that our energy centers, otherwise known as our chakras, heal in partnership. One chakra's emotional and energetic draw on the partnership causes one energy center to be excessive while the other center becomes deficient. The collective partnership is always working to establish equilibrium.

This is beautifully illustrated through the partnership between the throat and sacral chakras.

The sacral chakra energy nourishes our bladder and sexual organs and is

  • the home of our emotions

  • where our desires live

  • where we connect to others

Our throat chakra energy nourishes our throat, ears, and thyroid and is where we...

  • speak our truth

  • feel truly heard by others

  • speak those sacral chakra desires into existence

  • hold space for our own, and others', emotions

When the sacral chakra presents symptoms by way of bladder pain or infection or sexual organ issue, we look to the theme of the counter chakra, the throat chakra, for our cure. Often, I have found this individual is pissed off and refuses to speak to their partner or is not telling the full truth. Guilt will stagnate this energy and wreak havoc on not only the interpersonal partnership but also the energetic one.

The opposite is true too.

When someone is an over talker and is experiencing an excessive throat chakra, their sacral chakra is deficient, leaving a lack of connection to words that are being spoken. The garrulous speaker drones on and on without any connection to emotion, leaving them feeling disconnected from others.

We can balance and heal these energy centers in many different ways. One of which is through the balancing of the elements. Each chakra is nourished and balanced by an element, in addition to many other healing modalities.

The sacral chakra is balanced by water and the throat chakra by ether. Ether can be looked at as a gaseous state or simply holding space for someone while they speak and share their emotions.

In Ayurvedic medicine, there is a balancing technique called Ushna Udaka that recommends that you boil your water to make your water more absorbable for the body. Check out this amazing article on The Art of Cooking Water published by Kripalu. In boiling the water, the gas is removed and produces water more readily available for absorption for your body.

Water balances our emotions while ether (gas) helps us hold space for those emotions. As we balance our bodies physically, we will also find emotional balance and notice a shift in how we emotional connect to ourselves and others too.

If you would like to dive in further on how the elements can be used to help heal your energetic body, join me tomorrow for this week's podcast episode, Unlocking Harmony: Exploring the Chakras and the Elements that heal them with Rosanne Nieboer. Rosanne is the host of the podcast, The Chakra Way and shares her use of the elements to bring balance to the body so eloquently within this episode. Soo grateful she could join me and share her process.

Have a wonderful week exploring the elemental balance within your body and I'll see you next Sunday!

Much love,
Erin
