How morning sun affects your energy system

On the
Huberman Lab podcast, one of Dr. Andrew Huberman, PH.D.’s consistent messages is to absorb sunlight first thing in the morning to become more focused and regulate your circadian rhythm. He recommends five to ten minutes of sunlight every morning.

Energetically, why do you think this is helpful?

First, as we have reviewed in past weeks,
our third eye is the culmination of our five senses, and the chakra energy that feeds them.  The summation of this energy creates our sixth sense and our intuition.

How does this apply to our absorption of sunlight?

The element of light balances our third eye chakra and the absence of light brings balance to our crown chakra. 

The morning sunlight begins to balance the third eye and the energy centers below it,
awakening and balancing each of the chakras, and their connected senses,
and ultimately the aura to awaken the senses and physical human experience.

When all of your senses and their connections to the aura are balanced, you find focus, balance, and awareness throughout your day.

The reverse is true too.

The absence of light balances the crown chakra.  The absence of light allows for your soul to connect to the Divine at night where you process your day's lessons and plan for your day tomorrow. This process occurs in the darkness, coinciding with sleep and melatonin production which is increased by darkness. 

This subconscious process of healing the soul concludes with the drawing in of the morning sunlight. The early morning sunlight draws the soul and its energy back into the body, and into its third eye, to begin its day, awaking and balancing the chakras and
senses.

When we are startled awake and feel groggy for the day, it is because we have not fully completed this Divine process. If you are finding yourself groggy, allow the sunlight to warm your third eye and see how this may help you feel focused and balanced as you draw your energy back in.

If you are unable to enjoy morning sunshine because you rise before the sun, there are three ways to remedy this situation: 
 

  1. Dr. Huberman says to illuminate every light in the house and bask in this brightness.

  2. I have seen other recommendations to do the opposite. Use blue blocker glasses and red glass over your phone if you need to view your phone before sunrise and then get out into the sun as soon as it is risen. 

  3. You can also set intention in meditation that you have sunlight beaming into your third eye, illuminating it and balancing it and the Chakras below it. Intention is powerful.


If you are awake before the sun, experiment with all three and see which one offers you the most alertness throughout your day and most sound sleep at night. 

Once I began viewing sunlight in the morning and being disciplined to be in complete darkness by 11pm, my sleep quality changed drastically.  I not only slept through the night, the quality of my sleep also improved and my daytime alertness improved as well.

One morning while I was basking in my morning sun, I had this revelation of what was happening energetically within our bodies and this moment connected all my research dots and I am so thrilled to share this with you here.

The discipline is worth it!

Experiment with 10 minutes of sunlight in the morning and full darkness at night by 11pm and watch how much your energetic vibration shifts!
