Are You Having Trouble Sleeping?
Right now, there is so much going on while nothing is going on.
We are unearthing dreams, ideas, frustrations, patterns and desires. Many are frustrated with being sheltered in place. I understand. It is carrying on for a long time and feels a bit like the Groundhog Day movie, but think about it for a moment. Yes, Shelter in Place was put in order to give scientists time to learn more about this virus but it's also giving each of us time to learn about ourselves. What safer place to dive into our hearts than in a shelter?
What have you discovered about yourself?
Sometimes self-discoveries can be amazing. Sometimes they can cause you discomfort as you evolve from the person you were into the person you discovered because there is simply no going back once you've become aware of the new you. Rest assured, the evolved you is always a blessing but, like when you were a child, there can sometimes be growing pains as you change and enter a new life chapter.
Every life change causes grief. We experience grief over a life that no longer exists, whether that is a loved one's life or an aspect of your own life that no longer exists.
I think it is safe to say that most of us are experiencing some level of grief over the life we used to be living a few months ago. We feel grief that celebrations look different, work is different, time with family and friends looks different, grocery shopping even looks different.
This grief can keep us up at night. Grief energy resides in our lungs. It’s why we can’t seem to catch a full breath or feel like a weight is on our chest. It’s why we find ourselves sighing all the time after losing a loved one. It’s not just because we’re sad. Our sadness actually creates energy that settles on our lungs. This heavy energy causes sighing, a heaviness on our chest, asthma or an increase in respiratory infections. Have you experienced any of these? Chinese Medicine refers to it as an energy blockage in the lung channel.Although this grief energy resides in our lungs, our bodies naturally heal themselves. Every night our bodies heal in the following pattern:
11pm-1am- Gall bladder where we hold our impulsive thoughts
1am-3am- Liver where we hold our anger and resentment
3am-5am- Lungs where we hold our grief
5am-7am- Large Intestines where we hold our relationships and how we're processing them
Are you waking up at night consistently during one of these windows and not being able to fall back to sleep until the next window begins? If so, take a moment to look back through the emotions connected to that window of time and journal on what might be happening in your life, and your heart, that is keeping you up at night.
Each organ in our body heals itself during a two hour span during our 24 hour day but today we are focusing specifically on the sleeping hours. Our bodies tell us everything we need to know. Our emotions can make us feel amazing and they can also make us very sick if we do not take the time to heal them and purge those emotions out of our bodies.
That is why I am so grateful to see you here each week, showing up, working and doing what you can to heal. Our emotions can make us very sick. I see this all the time in my energy healing practice. I find the life situations that hurt us the most are the same ones that create the biggest blockages in our energy. It is these very blockages that make us sick. We must heal our hearts to heal our bodies. Join me for this incredible Healing Sleep Meditation that walks you through a healing process to heal this sleep cycle within your body.
Sweet Dreams!
Much love,
Erin
